An Introduction to Safe, Confident Handgun Ownership

Hosted by The Sportsman’s Shop, the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s (NSSF) First Shots Pistol course is designed for new and beginner shooters looking to build confidence in a safe, welcoming environment.

This hands-on class introduces students to handgun safety, firearm operation, and the fundamentals of marksmanship through a combination of classroom instruction and live-fire training with one-on-one guidance from experienced instructors.

The NSSF First Shots program is nationally recognized for helping new shooters safely and confidently enter the shooting sports through professional instruction and hands-on training.

At The Sportsman’s Shop, our goal is to create a comfortable, educational experience where students leave feeling informed, confident, and excited to continue their training journey.

Duration: 2-3 hours

Cost: $60 (All supplies included)

This course will be completed with .22 LR ammunition and a 22LR pistol)

A valid government issued photo ID with current legal address is required to use the range and must be produced in person. Our store policy allows for range use by US Citizens and permanent residents able to produce a permanent resident card.

Payment Policy

Payment is due in advance and at the time of registration. Class date/time cannot be held without payment.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made no less than 5 days/120 hours before the training class if attendance is not possible. Cancellations within the prescribed time frame can be applied to future classes only. Cancellations received less than 120 hours prior to a class will result in the loss of the registration fee. No shows or no calls will result in the loss of the registration fee and no refund will be made.
